We've done neighborhood cycling, backroads cycling and cycling along the
Santa Ana River bike path, but this was our first real off-road trail ride. We climbed
hills, mostly avoided the larger rocks and dealt with a stream crossing to get to the
other side of Lake Hodges. Unfortunately, part of the trail was closed and we resorted to
some "city" riding (hilly roads) to make up a few miles. The weather was perfect. After
re-fueling at the local McDonalds, the prospect of a follow-up siesta sounded pretty good
to everyone.
