Dry Bags for Canoe Trip

Those going on the canoe trip will need a large waterproof gear bag.  We will be carrying our tents and sleeping bags in the canoes.  These are often available at WalMart.  Mr. R. will have an example at the next meeting.  Many scouts in the troop may already have some those going on the trip can borrow.

Those going to Emerald Bay will also need these so you may want to purchase one now.

National Gold Medallion Award Winner!

Troop 148 has been recognized this year as the recipient of the Gold Medallion Award!

The National Catholic Committee on Scouting awards one Pack, Troop and Venture Crew each year in each of the 15 Episcopal Regions of the United States.  This prestigious "Gold Medallion Award" recognizes units that "excel at providing youth with quality programs including religious activities, religious emblems participation, outdoor activities, and special events that encompass the religious, vocational, and educational aspects of Scouting under Catholic auspices."

Congratulations to the Troop and our Knights of Columbus Sponsors!
